The National Police Commission (Napolcom) regional office finds a "serious breach of operational procedures" against Traffic Management Group (TMG) operatives who seized 8 stolen vehicles here.

The filing of appropriate administrative complaints against P/Insp. Doroteo Tolentino, PO3 Jason Calimba, PO2 Edwin Santos and PO2 Eddie Mahurom, all elements of the TMG-7 based in Cebu City is also expected by the Napolcom-7 from owners of alleged carnapped vehicles, according to a press statement yesterday from Napolcom-7 Director Atty. Bernardo Calibo.

Bedol to be charged
with poll sabotage


MANILA. Former Maguindanao election supervisor Lintang Bedol will soon be charged with electoral sabotage for losing the municipal election results in the province during the May senatorial elections.

Resurreccion Borra, who took over as acting Commission on Elections chairman following Benjamin Abalos Sr.'s resignation, told a Senate budget hearing last week that the poll body would pursue filing criminal charges against Bedol.

Herrera voices alarm on fate of
fishing village

Vice Gov. Julius Caesar Herrera has voiced alarm over the fate of Bohol 's fishing villages in the light of contemporary challenges particularly the dwindling fishing grounds and exploding population.

"It has been shown that human population in the fishing villages is growing rapidly than in other areas of the country due to high fertility and migration," he noted.

In an interview after the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) session last Tuesday, the vice-governor warned that this has given rise to increased demands for marine products and for food and income.

Maribojoc tourism boom eyed

MARIBOJOC. Mayor Boy Evasco is bullish to develop this coastal town into a major tourists' stop following his inventory of possible areas for development.

He cited four sites to be studied for development, namely: the San Vicente mangrove board walk, the

Postan Forest in barangay Cabawan near Abatan River, the Bolok-bolok Spring and the Candelaria Forest.

The existing board walk which needs upgrading will become the home of eco-tourism lovers who wish to plant mangroves during their visits while the Candelaria Forest is ideal for mountain trekking.
