New 302nd Brigade comdr assumes post

The new commander of the 302nd Infantry Brigade formally assumed post yesterday vice Col. Jessie Dellosa who was appointed as new commandant of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA).

The new 302nd commander is Col. Cesar Yano, a younger brother of newly installed Army chief Lt. Gen. Alexander Yano.

Prior to his new assignment, Col. Yano, a member of PMA Class 1980, was formerly the assistant chief of staff for operations of the Philippine Army.

The command turnover yesterday was presided by 3rd Infantry Division commander Major Gen. Jovenal Narcise at the 302nd IB headquarters in Camp Rajah Sikatuna, Carmen town.

Col. Dellosa held the brigade's command post since January this year until Friday when Pres. Gloria Arroyo approved the designation of new commanders in the Philippine Army.

Col. Yano's appointment to the 302nd IB completed the list of new appointments to the Army's major units.
