NATIONAL MASTER Jedara in action during the Jedara Multiple Game Challenge - Grace Christian School '07. Right photo shows School administrator Engr. Robert Rioand Jedara during the symbolical game opening of Jedara Cup '07.

Jedara R. Docena qualified for the ASEAN Open Chess championships this coming June 2008 in Vietnam by besting all contenders during the Philippine Open Age Group Championships (Girls 16 and under) held in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila last April 5-8.

She also joined the Philippine Open Junior Chess Championship (Girls 20 and under) last April 11-14 and she also bested all of the participants.

She was crowned Women's National Master during the Awarding Ceremonies by no less than the President of the National Chess Federation, former Congressman Prospero Pichay.

This is the first time in the history of Bohol. She has also now qualified for the Philippine Team to be sent to the World Youth Chess Championships in October.

Docena, 16 years old, hails from Taguba-as, Antequera, Bohol and was the class Valedictorian of the seniors class Magiting batch '08 of the Tagbilaran Grace Christian School last March 29. (Engr. Robert T. Rio)
