  RP's top booters battle
Cebu's best on April 27

The opening of the Cebu National Inter-Club Football Championships is expected to be given a shot of football fever when the Philippine National Football squad goes up against the best of Cebu on April 27 at the Cebu City Sports Complex football pitch.

The nationals, or more popularly known as the "Askals", kicked off their Visayas tour in Dumaguete City yesterday and will have San Carlos City, Negros Occidental as their next stop.

The tour is aimed at promoting the group 2 elimination tournament of the Asian Challenge Cup in Iloilo City next month.

According to Cebu Football Association (CebuFa) president Richard Montayre, they are ready to host the Azkals and are just waiting on the approval waiting on the approval of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) as well as head coach Norman Fegidero.

Should the tour stop push through, the visit would prove to be historic for Cebu as it has never hosted the RP national football squad.
