Sunrisers subdue
MTC tennisters

MARIBOJOC. The Complex Sunrisers Tennis Club (CSTC), displaying power and precision tennis, outwitted Saturday, last week the Maribojoc Tennis Club (MTC) at the Anislag Tennis Court, this town. The Sunrisers clinched 7 wins aginst 3 losses and one draw.

Erstwhile DepEd Supervisor Florante "Poypoy" Evasco heads the CSTC tennisters while SIP staffer Deddie Chiu the MTC raquet weilders.

The day-long tennis tourney blasted of with the presidential match pitting Chiu and his vice prexy, Maj. Susines Corre versus the Evasco-Magallanes tandem. The MTC duo attained an easy win to the tune of 8-2.

The initial victory of the Maribojocanons, however, turned sour when they suffered two successive setbacks in the ensuing matches. The Al Chatto-Mendez tandem prevailed over MTC's Engr. Tiongco and Paul Gelig, 8-4, while the T. Chatto-Ciruela pair gave the Fuertes-Cornito combination an 8-5 whipping.

   

The fourth game played by Mike Turco and Mar Redillas versus the Quevedo-Udtohan team ended in a draw.

Jun Roscios and L. Miguello saved the day for the host club when they gave Sunrisers' Matela and Bulong a humiliating 8-0 defeat.

Earlier, the Anquilero-Jabines pair outsmashed CSTC's Balunda and Estoquia, 8-6, in the most thrill-packed game of the tournament.

The Complex tennisters wins follow: Al Chatto-Mendez defeated Tiongco-Gelig,m 8-4; T. Chatto-Ciruela d. Fuertes-Cornito, 8-5; Villaber-Seroje d. Cambong Redilla-Tinijora, 8-5; Pacatang-Fernandez d. Punong Barangay Alderite-SPO4 Arocha; 8-4; Quevedo-Udtohan d. Vincent Arocha-Arabejo, 8-5; and Pacatang-Fernandez d. Briones-Tubog, 8-2.

The MTC victories included the following: Chiu-Corre defeated Evasco-Magallanes, 8-2; Anquilero-Jabines d. Balunda-Estoquia, 8-6; and Roscios-Miguello d. Bulong-Matela, 8-0.

A rematch which will take center stage at the CPG Sports Complex twin courts will be decided later by both clubs.
