  Condes vows to
keep crown

Cebu city-after almost a year of absence from the ring, IBF minimumweight champion Florante "The Little Pacquiao" Condes says he just wants to fight and defend his title.
Condes (22-3-1, 20 KO's) will be defending his title for the first time against Mexican Raul "Rayito" Garcia in Mexico (22-0, 15 KO's) on June 14.

He took the title with a split decision win victory over Indonesia's Muhammad Rachman in July last year.

"I just really want to defend my crown," Condes said in Filipino Wednesday night after his training at the Ala gym here.

Trainer Danny Bactol said Condes now weighs 110 lbs and should have no problem on fight night.

BARANGAY OLYMPICS. Pureza Veloso-Chatto (center), wife of First District Rep. Edgar Chatto, is shown with Mayor Jose Ugdoracion and delegations when she graced the opening of the first-ever three-day Palarong Pambarangay in Alburquerque. The games were participated by all barangay officials, tanods, and health and Day Care workers. Barangay Ponong grabbed the overall championship of the tournament initiated by the Association of Barangay Councils led by ABC President Elias Jipos in coordination with the municipal government. The lady Chatto represented and spoke for her husband in the opening rites. The congressman principally sponsored the special sports event.
