City
hall will splash benefits for its city hall workers in time
for the fiesta celebration on Thursday.
This
came after City Mayor Dan Lim was overruled by the majority
bloc of the Sangguniang Panlungsod which insisted that the
tri-benefits will be released today which is two days before
the city fiesta celebration.
City
hall workers will receive their mid-year bonus which is equivalent
to half of their month's salaries, P4,000 clothing allowance
and P2,000 productivity pay.
Mayor
Lim said that he wanted these benefits to be released at the
opening of classes in June. However, he was prevailed by the
majority bloc of the city lawmaking body.
The releases will commence today, he said.

Meanwhile,
he awaits the nod of the Sangguniang Panlungsod regarding
his move to refund city tax payers of their paid real
property taxes which totals to P4 million.
The
refund follows after the suspension of the new assessment
on real property taxes which met strong objection from
the tax payers.
A
group of real property owners filed a class suit against
the city mayor and three other officials for implementing
a 108% hike in taxes based on Ordinance no. RC-058.
