
Bohol formalizes
bid on Choco Hills
The
provincial government officially confirms the nomination
for the Chocolate Hills to be included in the list of
nominees in the global search for the New 7 Wonders
of Nature (N7W).
Gov.
Erico B. Aumentado filed the formal nomination to the
New 7 Wonders of Nature, a non-government organization
that launched the search to determine sites which would
qualify to vie for the world's top 7 wonders of nature.

MANILA.
With rice prices soaring globally, more subsidies for
poor Filipino families in the 20 poorest provinces nationwide
are under way, Social Welfare Secretary Esperanza Cabral
said yesterday.
Cabral
said that apart from the subsidized rice being sold
to target beneficiaries by the National Food Authority
(NFA), the national government has allocated P5 billion
this year to fund a P500 monthly welfare subsidy for
each of the country's poorest families.

It's
ready to rumble for the much-awaited matchup between
the ex-PBA players led by the towering Bonel Balingit
and Bohol's best at the HNU main campus gym along Lessage
