Boholano nabbed for
$5M fake visa scam

A Boholano businessman based in California was arrested by federal agents for allegedly running one of the biggest visa falsification schemes in the United States involving $5 million and victimizing some 500 people who are mostly Filipinos, if not Boholanos.

Alexander Sales Vista, a Boholano by affinity after he married a Boholana nurse from San Miguel town, was nabbed last week by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after charging fees on illegal immigrants for fraudulent work visas and employment records.

This as City Mayor Dan Lim and Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso are again in a warpath over the city government's negotiation of a loan from the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) amounting to not less than P500 million to P1 billion.
