UB
stuns Cyclones; PMI hopes alive University
of Bohol Mentors smashed Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School Cyclones, 65-39
Tuesday in the resumption of the 12th Bohol Professionals Basketball League (BPBL)
at the BIT IC hard court.
The
players of both teams came in one by one which caused the game to start late.
The tournament commissioner granted the request of both teams to wait for their
teammates.
Kobe
Bryan, Cris Wong, and Arnold Tagab led the attack of the mentors in the first
canto to overrun the Cyclones, 18-6.
The
mentors never looked back as the buzzer sounded signaling the ceasefire with the
score standing at 36-14.
| | | And
from there the Cyclones joined hands together to forge a last ditch rally in futility
as the triumvirate of Tagab, Bryan, and Wong were on the full alert to defy any
upheaval by the opponents. They were later joined by Lemuel Belarmino and Carlo
Cresencio in their quest for the victory.
The
18 point production by Ingles was negated by the aggressiveness of the mentors'
usual game, the run and game as there was no one else supporting him but Meloy
Rizanne and Ponky Alolo. | Philippine
Maritme Institute Admirals keep their hopes alive when they crashed the erstwhile
stubborn Bohol Wisdom Padfacs, 103-81.
Marlowe
Bondalo was pinch-hitting for his brother Ace, the scoring machine Bondalo, who
had hiss off nights. Fortunate Alcampado, a streak shooter from Cortes collaborated
with the younger Bondalo. The duo combined for 60 points in their demolition job
against the Padfacs. Willie Guno added 15 points to make the padfacs in disarray
and getting their 6 loss in as many games.
Halftime
score was 43-30, Admirals ahead.
The
Padfacs could get their game going even with the presence of their prized recruit,
Leo Suico who poured in a game high of 34 big points.
With
the loss the BWS Padfacs in now in the brink of getting an outright disqualification
as they have got the longest losing streak in the league thus far.
The
Bohol Professionals Basketball League (BPBL) which is a stake holder of the Basketball
Association of the Philippines (BAP) will take a break on Christmas time. |
