BWS takes Game 1;
GCS in 3rd spot

Defending champions Bohol Wisdom School mini Dragons trounced the Bohol Institute of Technology International College mini Cruisers, 91-74 to take Game 1 of the best of three championship series and fortified its title-retention bid of the mini basketball division crown of the on going 13th Bohol Schools Amateur Athletic Association (BSAAA) 3rd Graham C Lim Basketball Challenge at the BWS gym.

The mini Cruisers got the upper hand in the 1st canto as John Rusty Pitao waxed hot defying all the defenders assigned to him to score unmolested in all angles. He was connived by the equally quick Leo Bongalos and Bambi Estillore to erect a 4 point lead, 20-16, at the end of the canto.

And as the game went through 2nd canto, skipper Kyle Panong, ace gunner Rey Magtahas, and the most improved Kevin Mascarinas staged an uprising to bring their team up front, 38-33 going into the 3rd period.

The formidable triumvirate of the mini Dragons took over to maintain their game long dominance against the undermanned mini Cruisers even as Pitao continued his highly spirited play. But to no avail his efforts went to naught as the mini Dragons' arsenals found their marks with efficient accuracy.

The 2nd canto rally of the mini Dragons was orchestrated by wily point guard Ven Excel Garrote with his timely ball distribution and control of their offensive assaults which caught flat footed the defensive stance of the mini Cruisers. High leaping JM Romo joined the prey later.

Grace Christian School mini Eagles copped 3rd place when they routed the raw Holy Spirit School mini Crusaders, 76-34, despite losing Robert Miro on injury.

Miro injured his arm when he slipped as he tried to position himself against an unknown opposition. HE was rushed to the hospital accompanied by their coach, William Galon.

The 13th BSAAA 3rd Graham C Lim Basketball Challenge is ably supported by Mayor Dan Neri Lim; Mr. and Mrs. Camilo Torralba, Cebu PJ Stars; STY Marketing; BIG TOPZ; Bon's Lumber Supply KM 3; Mr. and Mrs. Leo B. Madanguit; First Consolidated Bank; Grandma's Purified Drinking Water; Bohol Chronicle; DyRD AM/FM; Holy Spirit School; Bohol Wisdom School; Petron Philippines, Inc.; Bohol Times; Mr. and Mrs. Allan Tenorio; and Congressman Edgar M. Chatto.
