UV Lancers beat Bohol PRISAA 5

As expected, the University of the Visayas Green Lancers smothered the Bohol PRISAA Selection, 77-63 before a jampacked crowd at the UB Gym Friday night.

Five Green Lancers of coach Elmer "Boy" Cabahug scored double figures to keep the host team at bay and were only threatened by at least nine markers at the turn of the second half.

Using their size advantage and experience to the hilt, the visitors took control of the game the final buzzer.

Six-foot-11 behemoth Gregory Slaughter made an imposing presence in the paint by controlling the board aside from contributing 11 points.

Harlow Villanil topscored for his team with 12 points while Rechum Dennison, Edrian Lao and the gangling Fil-Am added 11 points apiece. Michael Luga tallied 10 points for the visitors.

Swingman Jun Lusdoc scored a game-high 23 points followed by the high-leaping Mong Guillena with 13 and the slippery Dumapig 11 points respectively.

Image Marketing (SK Pob. 1) shocked the highly-touted BIT Supercruisers with an 88-75 upset win in the first game of the well-applauded stellar games.

With the big success, organizers led by the new generation "The Mariners" through seafarer Genesis "Pakay" Lopena planned to bring back Cebu's top collegiate team against a local formidable line-up before the end of the year. Special thanks were likewise extended to Neneng Kapirig of Image Marketing, Aqua Pure, Pepsi Cola, BIT-IC and Lite Shipping. (many b.)
