Can Marquez do to Pacman what no other Mexican could?

World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez will defend his title against three-division world champion Manny Pacquiao at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a rematch of their May 8, 2004 legendary battle which ended in a draw.

Dubbed as "Unfinished Business," the much-anticipated world title bout can be seen live via satellite, no commercial break, this coming

March 16, Sunday, 8 AM, on the widescreens at Screenville Cinemas 1, 2 and 3 of Island City Mall. Tickets at P300 each, seating accommodation with free softdrink and Jollibee hamburger, are now available at Screenville Cinema ticket booth. For reservation, call 501-2463 (Globelines), or 411-5521 (PLDT) local 350.

In their first encounter, Pacquiao felled Marquez three times in the first round only to allow the Mexican to recover and forge a controversial draw. Now, the Filipino ring icon is bent on finishing him off and stands to become the first Asian boxer to win titles in three different weight categories.

Dubbed "Republica Enemy No. 1," Pacquiao (45-3-2, 34 KOs), has blitzed through the best fighters Mexico has had to offer since 2003 including Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera, Oscar Larios, Emanuel Lucero, Hector Velazquez, and Jorge Solis. The only blemish on this impressive resume was the draw against Marquez.

Pacquiao was named 2006 Fighter of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) and The Ring Magaine for his two spectacular knockout victories of Mexican icon and three-division champion Morales, as well as his dominating 12-round unanimous decision over former world champion Larios. The hard-hitting southpaw has won 21 of his last 22 bouts including 2007 victories over Barrera and Solis.

Marquez (48-3-1, 35 KOs), from Mexico City, captured his first world title in 2003, stopping former world champion Manuel Medina in the 7th round to capture the vacant IBF featherweight title. He unified the title by dethroning WBA champion Derrick Gainer to set the stage for his first mega-fight against Pacquiao. Following his majority draw against Pacquiao, Marquez successfully defended both title belts, winning decisions over Victor Polo and Orlando Salido, before traveling to Indonesia to face Chris John, where he lost a controversial decision.

Marquez successfully advanced into the super featherweight division last year by dethroning WBC champion Barrera in March and successfully defending that title in November against Rocky Juarez.

Two of the world's boxing legends collide for a grand face-off in their ultimate rematch as Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez settle the scores on March 16, 2008 8AM live via satellite on the wide screens of BQ Cinemas.

The bout is a rematch of their May 8, 2004 legendary battle which ended in a draw.

Marquez-Pacquiao II "Unfinished Business" will be for the WBC and vacant Ring Magazine Super Featherweight World Championship. The world title bout will take place at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

With near identical records and professional achievements, it is but no surprise that their first encounter for the title ended in a majority draw. Marquez, then the defending International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight champion, was forced to draw the scores after Pacquiao sent him to the canvass three times in the first round.

Pacquiao who was hailed as the "Mexican Executioner" will settle face-to-face with Marquez in a heavy pound battle the world will surely await.

Catch this action-packed rematch on the wide screens of BQ Cinemas. Tickets are sold at P300.00 with free hamburger & coke at the BQ Mall Management Office. Please call 411-2969 for more ticket inquiries.
