RAMASOLA
  MARIBOJOC. Multi-awarded Boholano artist Teodorico "Ric" Ramasola was unanimously chosen Wednesday to head the Heritage Committee of the newly-created Municipal Eco-Heritage, Tourism, Culture and Arts Council (MEHTCAC) during its organizational meeting at the Sangguniang Bayan hall, this town.

Retired DepEd Regional Supervisor Policronia B. Garsuta chairs the Dulture and Arts Committee while Lourdes Concepcion Endo steers the Tourism Committee.

The other members follow:Heritage Committee - Ma. Angeles R. Cesar, Engr. Emilio Ramasola, Cebu City DepEd Supt. Lorna Echavia Rances, and Maribojoc Museum Curator Roberto Valles; Arts and Culture Committee - Fr. Irvin Garsuta, Fr. Oriel Echavia, Architect Ponciano Ramsola, Jr., DepEd Division Supervisor Cleofe Salera Genabe, BACS I Academic Supervisor Winefreda Fuertes Flores, Meriam Varon Lingo and Godofredo Fuertes; and Tourism Committee - Cooper Resabal, Juanita Yap, Ma. Ana Antequiza and Dr. Eliseo Balatayo.

   

As mandated by Executive Order No. 11 dated November 12, 2007 which created the new council, the MEHTCAC SHALL: a) Formulate programs and recommendations to develop local culture and artistic talents; b) Ensure the protection, preservation and conservation of the local culture and historical heritage; c) Conduct cultural events such as festivals, competitions, lectures, seminars, symposia and set exhibits; and d) Encourage the development of eco-heritage tourism, cultural and arts-related enterprises.

The council is chaired by Mayor Leoncio B. Evasco, Jr. and vice-chaired by Municipal Kagawad Raynaldo "Liling" Villas of the SB Committee on Tourism and Beautification.

The secretariat is steered by Municipal Tourism Officer Mary Ann Jabiness and Engr. Ma. Nenita R. Chiu, municipal planning and development coordinator. (Fred Fuertes)
