Bohol in Taekwondo
tourney

Well-known jins from Central Visayas, including Bohol strut their wares when the Regional Carlos Palaca Jr. (CPJ) Taekwondo Tournament kicks-off today at the Cebu Doctors' University gym in Cebu City.

The competition includes elementary (6-11), mid-junior (12-14), junior (15-17) and seniors (18 and above divisions).

Some 18 jins from the Danao City Taekwondo Club of coach Danny Yap have been tagged as early favorites to win the title owing to their top place finish in the regional Taekwondo Invitational Championships held last December.

Some 48 gold medals are up for grabs in the competition sanctioned by the Philippine Taekwondo Association.

At least six teams from Cebu, one from Dumaguete and Bohol are part of the 20 participating teams vying for top honors in the event. The Cebuano jins are top favorites to rule the tourney.
