ALLOWANCE

Friendship is a matter of allowance
Allowance is a factor in friendship.
Understanding is a matter of allowance
Allowance in an element in understanding.
Willingness in a matter of allowance
Allowance is an ingredient in willingness.
Patience is a matter of allowance
Allowance is a part of being patient.
Truth is a matter of fact.
Fact is not always the truth.

WE KNOW THE ANSWER

Of all the beautiful things to enjoy in life,
Why are we bent on conflict and strife?
Working at jobs for people we hate,
Then complain to everyone that is our fate.

Our lovers now enemies, really don't care,
Divorced, alone, with no one to share.
Stuck in a rut, whining it's so hard to change
When it's our comfort zone with a limited range.

To venture out and live our dreams
Is easier said than done, it seems.
Does it require courage to decide and act
Or know where we're going, such a little known fact?

Spending meaningless days unable to grow,
When asked, 'What's the problem?', we don't know.
Life is not difficult, we make it that way,
Accepting responsibility is the order of the day.

So what is the solution to life's puzzle we seek?
We know the answer even as we speak.
Deep down inside, it's all those fears,
Which we have accumulated over the years,
Solidified into habits of hard core beliefs
Which now forms the basis of all our grief.

No more lame excuses and feeble alibis,
Living false hopes, telling little white lies.
Live what excites you it's the most valid thing you can do,
It will open up a world of happiness for you.
But you must live it now, no past or future to fret
So when it's all over you'll have no regrets

ENGE

Like a caged animal on hard ground,
He performed on this circle-in-the-round.
Tossed roses fell on stage
Like peanuts in a monkey's cage.

True to a circle with no beginning, no end,
He searched the audience in hopes to find a friend,
Who might understand as he kept turning round?
As an actor might feel being laughed at as a clown.

He wants to face them all at once,
So they can see his eyes,
To know what's in his heart,
When he says, "there's no good-byes".

Now he performs in venues that he feels,
Will encompass his ideals.
Who is this man, who do you think?
My very good friend, Englebert Humperdinck
