Floyd
Mayweather Sr., expectedly, has low regard for Manny
Pacquiao.
The
father of the world's acknowledged best pound-for-pound
fighter today believes the Filipino ring icon stands
no chance against England's Ricky Hatton.
This
despite the fact that the unbeaten Floyd Jr. hammered
Hatton, then also with an unblemished record, into submission
in the 10th round when they fought on Dec. 10.
In an interview with Boxing Scene.com's Rick Reeno,
Floyd, Sr., was quoted as saying that Hatton will beat
the [expletive] socks off (Manny) Pacquiao."

Mayweather
thinks that Hatton, the reigning world Jr. welterweight champ
(43-1, 31 KOs), would be too strong for Pacquiao, who started
his career at 112 lb but is now fighting at 130 lb.

Top
Rank chief executive officer Bob Arum, also Pacquiao's
chief promoter, is mulling a showdown with Hatton late
this year as the culmination of a three-fight calendar
for Pacquiao.
The
Hatton camp is receptive to the idea, although a formal
offer has yet to be tendered.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao officially started his training
for his March 15 rematch against Mexican Juan Manuel
Marquez on Tuesday in Gen. Santos City with trainer
Buboy Fernandez by his side.

Pacquiao,
fresh off vacations with his family in Boracay Island and
the United States, did his usual two-hour routine at the gym
owned by Rey Goligan.
After
whipping himself into shape in his hometown, Pacquiao is set
to fly to Los Angeles before Jan. 15, where he will train
under Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym for Pacquiao-Marquez
II slated at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
