By: KIT BAGAIPO

One was killed while three others were wounded in a spate of shooting incidents here last week.

The shootings left police with no clue as a series of burglaries occurred which victimized three business establishments, a law office and the residence of a doctor.

Thursday night, suspected rebel leader Ronald Sendrijas was gunned down while buying medicines in a pharmacy along Gallares Street fronting Ramiro Hospital, this city.

Two 9-millimeter rounds to the head killed Sendrijas on the spot. The motor-riding suspects fled the crime scene leaving police investigators with only two empty shells of the 9 mm rounds that hit the former rebel leader.

Last Wednesday, at around 3:30 p.m., another motor-riding assailant armed with a pistol of unknown caliber shot one Hermilo Hornido, 64, a resident of VP Inting Street, this city.

Hornido, who was hit on the right foot, told police that he did not know his attacker.
Shortly before midnight last Thursday, one Dario Badiang Jr., a resident of Poblacion, Corella town was shot at his right arm in barangay San Isidro, this city.

The victim claimed his assailant was one Antonio Go, who resides in barangay San Isidro, this city.

Another victim of a shooting incident is Dominic Manigque, 21, a resident of Rizal Street, Sacred Heart Village, this city.

Manigque was shot near the National Food Authority (NFA) office in barangay Mansasa last Saturday.

According to police, two unidentified suspects riding in tandem aboard a motorcycle drove by Manigque and shot him on the right forearm.

BURGLARIES

A total of six burglaries were recorded by the City PNP last week.

More than P300,000 worth of cellular phones and ready-to-wear (RTW) clothings were carted away by unidentified robbers who ransacked PJ Star Enterprises at the Ambassador Arcade along B. Inting Street last Monday.

Police said the burglars gained entry through the establishment's roof by cutting its galvanized iron roofing.

A total of 94 cellular phones and RTWs were stolen from the store.

The firm's security guard, stationed outside the store, knew about the robbery when store employees reported for work the following morning.

Last Wednesday, at around 4:45 a.m., the residence of Dr. Henya Sotelo in Caingget Drive, barangay Booy, this city was intruded by a lone robber who forcibly entered the house through a wooden door.

The suspect took off with 1 diamond ring, 1 diamond earring, 1 white gold ring, 2 gold bungles, 2 Chinese gold necklaces, 1 unit Nokia cellphone and 1 unit DVD player.

Last January 8, around 8 a.m., robbers broke into the law office of lawyer Antonio Amora Jr., Save n' Earn and Nuga Best.

The suspects reportedly gained entry through the roof of the two adjacent buildings where the three establishments are located.

Taken from Amora's law office was a laptop computer worth P40,000. Several land titles owned by the lawyer's clients were allegedly torn into pieces by the suspects.

At the adjacent building where Nuga Best and Save n' Earn were housed, the robbers took off with another laptop computer valued at P45,000, a video camera worth P50,000, cash amounting to P3,100.
