A
furious combination by Carlos Meurom and Juan Orfano emerged
as the undermanned Bohol Institute of Technology International
College Jr Cruisers shaded a stubborn Mansasa High School
Blue Marlins, 91-86 in the resumption of the semi final round
of the 13th Bohol Schools Amateur Athletic Association (BSAAA)
3rd Graham C Lim Basketball Challenge at the BWS gym.
The
powerful combination of the duo came in time as the Galaura
brothers, Mc Joseph and Kent, were not visible at the Jr Cruisers
bench.
The
game saw a fiery battle as exchange of firepower from both
teams ensued as the magic 3 in Mark Saligumba, Raffy Taer,
and slot men John Ringo Casile of the Blue Marlins now coached
by former DWC Falcons Francis Omictin, fought and defied their
opponents to the hilt. But the magical triumvirate was overwhelmed
by the deeper bench of the boys from Gallares street in closing
seconds of the game.
Melvin
Cyrus Polestico, skipper of the BWS Golden Dragons, waxed
hot as he outmaneuvered all oppositions assigned to him to
carry his team to victory against the fighting Bai Cristobal
Camp. 71-52.

The
former All Star MVP was ably collaborated by Irene "the
Silent Operator" Espinosa, Cholo "Tower of
Power" Uy, and the hardworking Ian Atienza.
The
exchange of firepower continued as the 3rd canto ended
when the wards of Coach Rustico Pitao fired an 11-0
blast to take the lead at 71-58.
But
the never say die Blue Marlins, regrouped and put their
acts together to counter in the ensuing 4th period but
timely opposition neutralized the attack of the Blue
Marlins.
Meanwhile, the Mini Cruisers of BITIC played their all
hearts out as they outplayed the HSS Mini Crusaders,
47-32.

Former
Bai Cristobal Basketball Camp trainee Patrick Rocha almost
single-handedly stood tall for the Mini Crusaders but to no
avail his effort went futile as John Clyde Pitao, George Curiba,
and Andy Bongalos ignited a run away and dealt the Soledad
boys their 1 loss in as many outing.
In
the battle of sister teams, BWS Mini Dragons did not take
much sweat as they nipped BWS Jaguars, 57-46.
The
superior firepower of the Mini Dragons Rey Magtahas, the much
improved James Kevin Mascariñas, Van Excel Garrote,
Christian Tenorio, Dave Balaba, and Kyle Panong proved too
much for the Jaguars as as they negated the efforts of the
duo of Steve Carlon and Feilbien Coquilla.
