Ubay marks Sto. Niño feast Friday

UBAY.- All roads will lead thousands of revelers and devotees on Friday to this city-bound municipality as it celebrates the feast of the Most Venerated Sr. Sto. Niño.

Mayor Eutiquio Bernales urged his constituents to be frugal and practical in spending for the occasion. Earlier, he reminded the punong barangays about the one-parochial fiesta celebration.

   

For his part, Vice Mayor Galicano Atup emphasized the importance of the celebration saying "this is the most appropriate time to gratify the Lord for the bounties showered upon us."

The Pontifical Mass will start at 9:30 a.m. with Msgr. Christian Vicente Noel, Bishop of the Diocese of Talibon as main celebrant parish priest Rev. Fr. Perry Boncales will lead visiting priests as co-celebrants.

Meanwhile, the festivities will be ushered with a fluvial parade after the morning mass on vesper day. In the evening will be the Search for Miss Ubay 2008, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ubay.

The street dancing dubbed as Ubay-Ubay festival thru the Ubay Businessmen and Market Vendors Association will be seen in the afternoon of the feastday.

Disco and Grand Ballroom by the LGU will culminate the fiesta celebration.
