  Fil. nurses in demand

Filipino registered nurses are in demand in at least three countries, Federico Acdal, president of Greenfields International Manpower Services Inc., disclosed this week.

In an interview with the Bohol Chronicle, Acdal said that because of the shortage of nurses in countries like the United States, Canada and New Zealand, Greenfields is conducting a two-day job fair in the provincial capitol on February 6 and 7 in Tagbilaran City.

This is in coordination with the efforts of the provincial government of Bohol to generate more jobs for Boholanos.

Acdal said his company has a need for registered nurses, physical therapists and medical technologists in the United States under a registered company IPC Group Inc (Reg. no 1031683), To qualify for these positions, the nurses must have passed the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools test (CGFNS) or the state board RN examinations or (NCLEX). Preferably, he added, nurses already with passing scores in the TOEFL and IELTS English tests will be prioritized.

Openings for registered nurses in the United States are mostly in travel nursing which will provide the nurses opportunities to work in different states with free housing.

For Canada, nurses must have obtained a score of 6.5 in all subjects except speaking which is required to be 7. For New Zealand, "our agency in New Zealand offers a free bridging course, which is a requirement for licensing in that country. This offer alone is worth $5,000 for the nurses as a bridging course fee. Nurses must also have obtained
a score of 7 in IELTS in all subjects, to qualify for work in New Zealand.

Applicants for these positions, Acdal bared, can file their applications thru email at greenfields_intl@yahoo.com. These positions are for manpower pooling only, and no fees will be paid for applying. Workers are warned against dealing with illegal recruiters.

The POEA license number of Greenfields is POEA-067-LB-032307. No fees will be paid for applying.

Acdal said Greenfields has also immediate openings for domestic helpers in Hongkong, Singapore,. Malaysia and Taiwan while "we do have hundreds of openings especially for dairy farmers, aluminum joiners, welders, painters, janitors for New Zealand and Canada

He added that "we have also vacancies for hotel workers, like waiters and waitresses, front desk clerks, female housekeeping, kitchen helpers, construction workers, masons, electricians, etc. for Canada.
