Officers
of the Bohol Provincial Employees League (Bopel) led by its
president Dr. Felino Columnas announced the winners of the
draw with top prize of a brand new motorcycle Honda Wave 125cc
after the conduct of the annual General Assembly last Friday
at Bohol Cultural Center.
Almost
800 of the 1,200-strong members of BOPEL attended the gathering
wherein issues and concerns were raised including the financial
position of the union and the controversial proposal of "re-engineering"
scheme feared by hundreds of Capitol employees they might
be dislocated.

The
grand prize (motorcycle) went to a certain Gregorio
Hamili of Dimiao and the rest of the prizes (80 bags
of rice) were also won.
The
league is in the pink of financial health with its total
funds of PhP1,065,534.11, including its investment of
PhP827,000 with the Bopel Multi-purpose Cooperative
based on league treasurer Edgar Petallar's financial
report during the assembly.
BOPEL
officials urged the members to pay their dues with the
union to avoid penalties, including those who failed
to remit or pay their raffle tickets. Failure to do
so will mean sanction will be imposed like no availment
of Collective Bargaining Agreement leave or no clearance
will issued to them.

include Columnas, president; Jojo Piquero, vice-president;
Lourdes Requeron, secretary; Maridel Tan, assistant secretary;
Petallar, treasurer; and Virgie Pinlac, auditor. Board of
directors are Hilda Wasawas, Fe Curato, Denden Calamba, Nestor
Visaya, Ric Obedencio, Dr. Renato Lustre, Rolando Paloso,
