Nicknamed "Filipino Flash," Donaire breezed into town over the weekend from Manila amid a warm welcome from his legion of fans here. After a motorcade from the city airport, the dual champion dropped by his favorite radio station dyRD/ZD and thanked his fans for their support. He was accompanied by his mother Imelda and fiancée Rachel Marcial, a Filipino-American Taekwondo titlist. His father-trainer Nonito, Sr. could not make the trip as he was still in Manila.

During the same interview, the Talibon, Bohol-born Donaire' confirmed that he will defend his titles for the second time against Australian Hussein Hussein in a grudge 12-round showdown in Dubai, UAE on April 4. He likewise inform that ALA boy Donnie Nietes will see action on the undercard to defend his WBO minimum-weight crown against Columbian Daniel Reyes in another 12-round battle. RP bantamweight kingpin Michael Domingo will also see action, Donaire added.

Joined by a TV team from ABS/CBN, Donaire motored to Buenavista town to visit his ailing grandpa Francisco Gonzales. Before making the out-of-town trip, the 25-year-old champ paid a coutesy call to Bohol's top boxing patron - Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Neri Lim.

The Donaires then toured Bohol's leading tourist attraction like the world-famous Chocolate Hills in Carmen, Loboc river and the historic Blood Compact site before spending the nights at a plush beach resort hotel in Panglao island, according to sportslover Mark Monton of the New City Hall.
