Police
are still clueless in their investigation into the killing
of an active member of the City Task Force who was gunned
down early Monday morning along Tabaco Street, this
city.
The
latest shooting incident is the seventh here since January
1. All cases are unsolved by the City PNP.

Police
are still looking into possible motives of the killing of
Honorato Laway, 51 years old, who was felled by still unidentified
assailant just outside his residence in Tabaco Street.

According
to SPO4 Justiniano Saco of the City PNP criminal investigation
section, Laway was on his way home after his duty at the
Tagbilaran City Port.
Laway
was shot with a .38 caliber pistol through his back.
He died on the spot.

Saco said no witness have surfaced yet on the latest
shooting incident.
CHECKPOINTS ORDERED
Meanwhile,
Bohol PNP Director SSupt. Edgardo Ingking has ordered
the City PNP to conduct random checkpoints in response
to the series of shooting incidents.

Aside
from the shootings, there is also an upsurge of burglaries
in the city.
Ingking,
who conducted a command conference with the city police said
a body search may be done during checkpoints if necessary.
City
PNP head C/Insp. Jacinto Cesar admitted during the conference
that the city police lack personnel to address the rising
incidents of crime.

Ingking said the Bohol Police Provincial Office is ready to
extend assistance to the City PNP in solving the shooting
incidents.
