City embarks
on infra plan

City Mayor Dan Lim yesterday said Tagbilaran is ready to embark on four major infrastructure projects in the next twelve months.

Topping the mayor's agenda, as Tagbilaran enters its 43rd year as a chartered city, is the concreting of at least 10 kilometers of city roads, drainage improvement and the construction of a waste water treatment plant, setting up of a solid waste recycling facility and the completion of the Tagbilaran Business Center.

MANILA. One cargo in the sunken M/V Princess of the Stars off Romblon can very well be a ticking time-bomb.

Dr. Romeo Quijano, a technical expert from the UP Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the UP Manila, who has done extensive study on the highly-toxic pesticide endosulfan, says the chemical belongs with the likes of other Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) like DDT and has been the subject of attempts at global banning.
