Boholanos will triumph - De Castro

Vice President Noli De Castro yesterday expressed confidence that the Boholanos' strong and enduring character is needed to prevail over the current economic challenges.

Speaking during the 154th Bohol Day commemorative program yesterday at the Bohol Cultural Center, the vice president urged provincial officials and Boholanos to "go back to the principles espoused by former Pres. Carlos P. Garcia which is austerity and practical living."

RP fight vs pirates, militants

MANILA.- The Philippines will tighten its southern maritime borders against pirates, smugglers and Muslim militants this year with financial aid and training from the United States and Australia, a senior defence official said on Tuesday.

Washington and Canberra have agreed to train, equip and help build up the Philippines' maritime security

GLORY DAYS

 
 Bohol - a province on a roll - celebrated its 154th birthday yesterday.

Among her favorite sons remembered were President Carlos P. Garcia and the
rebels Dagohoy and Tamblot. And of course, Mr. Hospitality himself, the forerunner of Bohol Tourism perhaps - Rajah Sikatuna.
