Proliferation
of fake tickets did not spare the fund raising project "Basketball sa mga
Artista" of DYRD Inyong Alagad Foundation last Sunday.
While
the HNU gymnasium was jam-packed with spectators, organizers were surprised that
almost 1,000 tickets in their possession did not sell even until the games were
over, according to Sean-By-The-Way, head of the Kiss FM organizing team.
Partial
investigation revealed that unscrupulous persons were behind the reproduction
of the games' tickets.
Police
is following tips on the identities of the persons and the shops were the tickets
were reproduced days before the event.
The
985 unsold tickets at (P75) could have generated an additional revenue of P73,875.

Mayor Dan Lim who watched the fund raising project admitted that other previous
events in the city were also victimized with fake tickets including one of the
boxing events during the early days of Rey Boomboom Bautista,
The
"Basketball sa mga Artista" which brought Manila movie star led by Boholano
actor-director Cesar Motano saw action with the DYRD All Stars which included
radio personalities of dyRD and Kiss-FM.
The
preliminary game was an "entertaining" match between Gay All Stars versus
Inday Ruping's Angels. | The
Sunday fund raiser was covered live over DYRD Worldwide.
The
net proceeds of P66,478.00 was added to the funds of DYRD's Inyong Alagad where
indigent patients come to the radio station daily to seek financial assistance
to help them buy medicines. The proceeds boosted the standing balance of Inyong
Alagad fund at P197,035.74
The
event was supported by kind hearted donors: P10,000 from Bohol Electric Cooperative
Inc. (Boheco); P5,000 each from Alturas Group, Rep. Edgar Chatto, Rep. Roberto
Cajes, Rep. Adam Jala; P3,000 from PLDT, Donkin Donuts and P2,000 from Bohol Water
Utilities. Inc.
Mayor
Lim said that he will donate equivalent to the net proceeds of the fund raising
while movie director Montano pledged P50,000 for the DYRD Inyong Alagad Foundation. |
