 Fake tickets victimize showbiz hoop

Proliferation of fake tickets did not spare the fund raising project "Basketball sa mga Artista" of DYRD Inyong Alagad Foundation last Sunday.

While the HNU gymnasium was jam-packed with spectators, organizers were surprised that almost 1,000 tickets in their possession did not sell even until the games were over, according to Sean-By-The-Way, head of the Kiss FM organizing team.

Partial investigation revealed that unscrupulous persons were behind the reproduction of the games' tickets.

Police is following tips on the identities of the persons and the shops were the tickets were reproduced days before the event.

The 985 unsold tickets at (P75) could have generated an additional revenue of P73,875.

City Mayor Dan Lim who watched the fund raising project admitted that other previous events in the city were also victimized with fake tickets including one of the boxing events during the early days of Rey Boomboom Bautista,

The "Basketball sa mga Artista" which brought Manila movie star led by Boholano actor-director Cesar Motano saw action with the DYRD All Stars which included radio personalities of dyRD and Kiss-FM.

The preliminary game was an "entertaining" match between Gay All Stars versus Inday Ruping's Angels.

The Sunday fund raiser was covered live over DYRD Worldwide.

The net proceeds of P66,478.00 was added to the funds of DYRD's Inyong Alagad where indigent patients come to the radio station daily to seek financial assistance to help them buy medicines. The proceeds boosted the standing balance of Inyong Alagad fund at P197,035.74

The event was supported by kind hearted donors: P10,000 from Bohol Electric Cooperative Inc. (Boheco); P5,000 each from Alturas Group, Rep. Edgar Chatto, Rep. Roberto Cajes, Rep. Adam Jala; P3,000 from PLDT, Donkin Donuts and P2,000 from Bohol Water Utilities. Inc.

Mayor Lim said that he will donate equivalent to the net proceeds of the fund raising while movie director Montano pledged P50,000 for the DYRD Inyong Alagad Foundation.
