Two armed robbers
hit a gasoline station in barangay Dao, this city yesterday fleeing with P240,000
in cash.
The
couple Felix and Thelma Ayeng, owners of Dao Caltex Gas Station have just boarded
their service vehicle to deposit their collections at a bank here about 8:30 a.m.
when the still unidentified robbers who were aboard a motorcycle blocked their
path.
According
to the couple, one of the suspects disembarked from the motorcycle pointing a
gun at Thelma who was holding the bag containing the money to be deposited.
The
victims could hardly provide police a description of the suspects as they covered
their faces with t-shirts and the incident took only a few seconds, according
to Thelma Ayeng. |
| | The
gun toting suspect approached Thelma without saying a word and went straight to
grab the bag which contained the gasoline station's cash collections since Friday.
The
lady-victim said she did not attempt to resist the suspect fearing she and her
husband will be shot.
Nobody
among the gas station employees even noticed the incident, according to the couple.
It was only after the suspects fled that the couple called for help. |
The 4-day
collections were supposed to be deposited last Monday but they were not able to
do so since it was a holiday.
Police
suspects that the robbers knew the routine of the couple who admitted they usually
deposit the preceding day's collection every morning when banks open for business.
The
Dao Gas Station does not have a security guard and had been a victim of another
robbery several years ago.
The
case is now being investigated by the Tagbilaran City PNP Theft and Robbery Section. |
