The CWL Sunshine Home will turn 20 years old this Saturday.

With the theme, "CWL: Living the Eucharist Through Social Justice and Charity," the 20th Founding Anniversary will be celebrated by the Diocesan, Vicariate and unit officers and members including the advisers and council of elders, friends supporters and guests of Sunshine Home.

All is set for the big affair which will be highlighted by the search and coronation of CWL Sunshine Home 20th Foundation Anniversary Matron. Eight candidates sponsored by the seven vicariates and by the CWL unit of St. Joseph Cathedral will vie for the title. Irene Jumamoy Uy Amoranto will represent the Vicariate of St. Joseph; Pinky Jao is the candidate of the Vicariate of Our Lady of Assumption. For the Vicariate of the St. Peter, Violeta Clarin Abasolo is the candidate. Marites D. Magkilat represents the vicariate of the Holy Child. The candidates for the rest of the vicariates are Pilarita M. Almojera of the Vicariate of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Eustacia Trabajo for the Vicariate of Our Lady of Light and Donatilla B. Cardino for the vicariate of St. Vincent Ferrer.

Judith Ang is the candidate of the St. Joseph Cathedral unit. The canvassing of votes and ballots will be on June 20 at 2 p.m. in the GSP Building along Tamblot St, this city where all the candidates, their supporters, vicariate presidents and the board of canvassers will meet to determine who will be crowned CWL Sunshine Home Matron 2008 on June 21, 2008.

   

Metro Centre Hotel and Convention Center will be the venue of the 20th Sunshine Home Foundation Anniversary celebration. Registration of participants is at 9:30 to 10:30 in the morning. Registration fee of P200 to cover one lunch and one snack is charged per participant.

While the registration is on-going, the CWL Sunshine Home assembly shade at Cabawan District will be blessed by Msgr. Jeffrey Malanog, V.G. and Diocesan assistant spiritual director. The officers of the Diocesan CWL board and other CWL members with vehicles are enjoined to attend the blessing.

The eucharistic celebration will be at 11 to 12 noon. His Excellency Bishop Leonardo Y. Medroso, D.D., the Diocesan Spiritual director is the main celebrant. The PIRA sa Sunshine Home will be offered during the mass. Lunch will follow after the mass. During the break at 1 to 2 p.m. while preparing for the coronation rites, the raffle draw of door prizes courtesy of the newly inducted president will be conducted.

At 2 to 4 in the afternoon the most awaited coronation rites and tribute to the CWL 20th Sunshine Home Foundation Matron will highlight the day's activities.

The invocatory song will be rendered by the Sunshine Home children. The salute to the colors will be done by the Lindavile Jr. CWL. Grace Sarigumba will conduct the singing of the National Anthem and the Bohol Hymn. The diocesan president, Felicidad L. Tabel will give the words of welcome. The awarding of certificates of appreciation to the men and women who contributed to the making of what the CWL Sunshine Home has become at present precedes the coronation rites. National board of director, Atty. Roselima C. Abapo and Sunshine Home executive director, Esperanza L. Relampagos will give the awards.

The following are the awardees:

Alturas Corporation, Architect Euracio Araneta, Gov. Erico Aumentado, Bohol Child Health Care, Advocates, Cong. Edgar Chatto, Rosario P. Dejaresco, Diocese of Tagbilaran, Fil-Am Couple, former Senator Ernesto Herrera, Dr. Rosendo Lopez, MAST Sisters, MIST Sisters, former Gov. Rene Relampagos.

Posthumous awards will likewise honor the following:

Beatriz Abaya, Msgr. Camilo Auza, Judge Sergia Bag-ao, Teodulo Chatto, Atty. Zoilo Dejaresco Jr., Senator Raul Roco, Alfonso Uy, Msgr. Felix Zafra.

Dr. Anacleta K. Perez, the Dean of Research and Development Department of CVSCAFT will give the response in behalf of the awardees.

The coronation rites will open with the processional of the seven muses and the CWL Matron 2008. To give the sashes and bouquets and certificates to the seven muses are the vicariate presidents assisted by the unit presidents. The farewell walk of the immediate past Sunshine Home Matron will precede the coronation rites of Matron 2008.

To do the honors of donning the cape, giving the sash, the scepter, the bouquet and the plaque of appreciation to the Matron are the officers of the Diocesan board and the Sunshine Home lead founder and presently the executive director, Esperanza Relampagos. The crown the Matron will be Msgr. Leonardo Y. Medroso, D.D. assisted by the former Matron of Sunshine Home.

To give tribute to the Matron, the Sunshine Home awards will render a number, a musical ensemble by the Loay CWL unit, a folkdance by Lindaville unit, and a choral number to be given by the Dimiao CWL unit care of Baby Magadan, Cecilia P. Autentico is the Lady of Ceremony.

All CWL members from the seven vicariates and fifty units in the Diocese of Tagbilaran will converge to celebrate the occasion. (Nimia M. Lungay/diocesan secretary)
