the Sandugo Festival reaches its second decade, the Streetdancing event doubles
effort in featuring local talent at its best. This was bared by Baclayon Councilor
Carmen Gatal, the Committee Chairperson.
Anchored
on the theme "Bol-anong Kultura, Kakugi ug Kinaiyahan," the choreography
is expected to reflect Boholano heritage, culture, arts and traits, and of any
foreign influences. |
The
event is open to LGUs, public and private schools, national and provincial government
offices, business firms and establishments, families and clans, civic-socio-religious
clubs and organizations. Participation is by group of 50 to 100 persons, including
instrumentalists.

groups must submit an accomplished entry form to Bohol Sandugo Foundation, Inc.
(BSFI) Secretariat located at the City Tourism Office on or before July 11, 2008.
While
the Streetdancing '08 is non-competition performance, special awards such as Best
in Choreography, Most Creative/Unique Group, Best in Production Design, Best in
Costume, Most Authentic Group, Best in Music, Best in Instrumentation are at stake.
The
Streetdancing Extravaganza is slated on July 27, 2008. | As
of this writing, the following have confirmed their participation; Municipalities
of Bien Unido, Balilihan, Catigbian, Maribojoc, Jagna, Tubigon, Carmen and Loboc,
Holy Name University, Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School (DCPNHS), Imaculata
High School-Baclayon, and Pamilacan Island Cooperative. More entities/institutions
are expected to participate in the coming days.
The
Bohol Sandugo Foundation, Inc. is under the headship of City Deputy Mayor Mariano
Uy.
