Tagbilaran City Schools Division of the Department of Education (DepEd) is given
60-days by Mayor Dan Lim to vacate its offices at the old city hall building.
An

He also cited the
lack of coordination from the newly appointed city schools superintendent with

however assured city residents that he will still be giving free school uniforms,
bags and school supplies to public elementary and high school students, he asked
for a scrutiny on the enrolees of the city's 16 public elementary schools and
6 high schools.
The
mayor observed a big jump in the enrolment to over 10,000 students while a survey
conducted in the city shows only some 8,000 aged 6 to 12. |
The interim
City Schools Division, which was established in 2003, occupied the second floor
offices of the old city hall since 2004 when the New City Government Center was
opened by then Mayor Jose Torralba.
Varquez
