The Dao Commercial
Basketball League (DCBL) 2008 7th season, one of the rain-delayed cagefests this
summer, finally came to a close with a big bang at the Dao open hardcourt last
Sunday.
When
the smoke cleared, the Navigators of coach Jun Zaldivar emerged champions against
the UB Flying Lemures with a 2-1 victory in their best-of-three title series participated
in by six top commercial teams here. | Widely
known as the 3rd Gov. Erico Boyles Aumentado Cup. Atty. Tommy Abapo, provincial
administrator represented the governor in the opening ceremony last April 6, while
the sports-loving Edgar M. Chatto took time from his hectic schedule by handing
over the awards to the winners in the inter-purok level in the pinultimate day
of the tournament.
Lionel
Cagadas of the PMI Navigators was voted as the Most Valuable player, according
to Dao's energetic punong barangay and dyRD basketball team mainstay Atoy Cosap.
The
Taloto Dyna Farm was second runner-up in the commercial division. Puroks I, II,
and III posted a 1-2-3 finish in the midget division. The junior level was ruled
by Purok III, followed by Puroks II and IV. Senior division; Purok 3, 1 and 2;
Super senior; Purok IV, II, III. Purok 3 ruled the volleyball event women division.
