Opening Portals of Imagination
By JOYCE CARMELLE VARQUEZ-ROSALES

Loboc… It is a place where music is in the air. A place showered with natural wonders, heritage treasures and numerous talents.

Gifted people in the field of visual arts are joining hands in an exhibit showing the remarkable features that Loboc has been bestowed. With the stroke of their brushes and the use of any medium, these artists are inspired to reveal the wealth found in Bohol's music town.

Various artworks such as paintings, sketches and other works using different media will be displayed in an exhibit dubbed as "Lobocanong Katahum," which will open on June 26 at the Loboc convento.

The purpose of this exhibit is to show the enticing beauty of the place. In such a way, every Lobocanon is encouraged to help in preserving their authentic inheritance as well as give importance to what has been there in the town for decades. Every color and every stroke of the artist is an effort to inspire people to put their conviction in playing their part to take care of God's bestowed presents in nature and the extraordinary talents that made Loboc a nice place to live in. It is hoped that every viewer will feel the message this exhibit tries to imply.

The display will also help raise funds for parish-related activities, contribute to the participating artists' growth, as well as promote the true spirit of nationalism through taking part in a campaign to preserve a town's heritage. It is indeed a great privilege to see the beauty of the place we are living. The word "heritage" reminds us how the Almighty has poured His blessings on this land. Viewers are urged to look beyond what is there in every artwork, to open portals of one's imagination, and to feel what every painting may wish to impart.

Discover what "Lobocanong Katahum" really means - bring friends and family to Loboc's significant art exhibit to be launched on Thursday and will be open to the public for the succeeding months.
