On
the first day of this Sandugo festival month, a new jewel of Bohol's tourism industry
will open to the public to offer first-rate resort accommodations and amenities.
A
mere forty-minute drive from Tagbilaran City, the Villa Tarcela Resort stands
just right of the national highway as you are greeted by the giant arch warmly
welcoming you to Valencia. It is undoubtedly a new landmark of the town and a
fitting representative of Valencia's best and of Boholano hospitality. Surrounded
by the beauty of nature, Villa Tarcela Resort takes you to a place where you can
be away from the grit and grind of daily routine. | | Board
Member Concepcion Lim graces the blessing and thanksgiving of Villa Tarcela Resort
last June 15. With her in the foreground are, from left, Aida Tagaro Amby, Tarcela
Tagaro, Engr. Alicia Tagaro-Andersson, and Lucio Tagaro. Valencia Mayor Henrietta
Lim Gan and Vice Mayor Jeorge Buslon also attended the occasion along with other
noted guests. Villa Tarcela Resort will open to the public this Tuesday. |
On
your left loom the hills of eastern Bohol and on your right coconut trees line
the fine sandy shore of the southern Bohol seacoast. Before you is a beautiful
panorama of the Mindanao Sea, the waves rushing to the shore and the balmy ocean
breeze brushing against your cheek. On a clear day, you see nothing but the bluest
sky, perhaps some wispy clouds, and the aquamarine waters of the sea. And just
off-center, the majestic Mt. Hibok-hibok rises from Camiguin Island, reaching
for the sky. In
the early morning and late afternoon, at low tide, gleaners comb the shore for
seashells, sea cucumbers, and edible seaweed. At night, you witness hundreds of
lights flickering in the darkness as local fishermen, with their nets, ply the
waters in their bancas.
| | | But
the lovely view isn't all there is to Villa Tarcela. With nine spacious guest
rooms and its expansive grounds, Villa Tarcela is also ideal for family holidays,
weddings and receptions, debuts, reunions, and other special occasions.
Villa
Tarcela astounds one with the accommodations and amenities it offers. Each room
is air-conditioned and features temperature-controlled hot and cold showers, mini
bar, cable TV, and DVD player. It offers laundry services, on-call spa services
for foot spa, body massage, pedicure, and manicure that you can request for a
private experience in your room. The telephone service entertains requests for
front desk assistance, housekeeping needs, and calls for breakfast in bed. |
Villa Tarcela
also has a swimming pool, a sea-view open bar and restaurant - from which you
can have your choice of native or international cuisine, a souvenir shop, internet
connection, scuba diving equipment for rent, and boat tours to coral reefs in
nearby protected marine sanctuaries. It offers free transport from anywhere in
Tagbilaran City to the Resort, tour assistance, and free transport to and from
the cool, refreshing waters of Badiang Spring.
At
Villa Tarcela, you can also play badminton, chess, or beach volleyball or go trekking
or fishing. You may even have time to visit the old stone church of Valencia,
which exquisite wooden floor has been hailed by the art historian Regalado Trota
Jose in his book Visita Iglesia Bohol as "the best preserved and the most
ornate of its kind" in the Philippines.
The
story behind Villa Tarcela is one of love. It is one between a mother and her
children - a mother named Tarcela Tagaro, whose passionate love for the beauty
of Bohol has inspired her children, who may each have gone on to pursue their
own careers in other lands but in each of whom still beat the heart of a true
Bol-anon. It is also a story of sharing that same unbounded love for Bohol with
other people.
Villa
Tarcela is fully staffed with tried and tested personnel, some of whom have worked
in five-star hotels and restaurants all over the country. With a staff ready to
