Rico
speaks to 3 Pinoy groups in US

VEGAS, USA. Gov. Erico Aumentado will start this week his string of speaking engagements
with Boholano groups in the United States of America.
The
engagements kick off with the grand international reunion tonight of some 400
delegates of the Bohol Provincial Hospital School of Nursing (BPHSN) alumni and
staff associations.
Aumentado
said according to Fe Hora-San Juan of Panglao town and Concordia Vistal, the association
president and adviser, respectively, they will troop to the Planet Hollywood Resort
and Casino for the two-day gab. The governor will be the nurses' and staff's guest
of honor and speaker on the opening night which is also the association's Family
Night. |
Tomorrow,
the Council of Leaders of the Confederation of Boholanos, USA and Canada, Inc.
(Conbusac) will gather at the Cathay House Restaurant for their mid-term conference.

Conbusac President
Carlos Cagaanan of Lila town will introduce the governor for his after-luncheon
speech.
In
his letter-invitation to Aumentado, Cagaanan said the council "will appreciate
it very much if you could talk on the developments in our beloved province of
Bohol."
In
a separate letter, he also told the governor that he was "thrilled to land
at the Panglao Bohol International Airport" the next time that he comes home
for a visit. | The
conference starts at 10 a.m. and will end by around 4 p.m. In
the evening, Aumentado will join Vice President Noli de Castro as guest during
the dinner-conference with the business and Filipino communities in Las Vegas.
He
is also expected to keynote the gathering of the Boholanos in Washington State
headed by Cagaanan, and other individual member-organizations of the umbrella,
Conbusac that can fit into his schedule.
While
in the US, the governor is also campaigning for attendance to the Tigum Bol-anon
Tibuok Kalibutan or global conference of Boholanos slated in Bohol in July next
year, as well as for votes among internet users to include the Chocolate Hills
in the New Seven Wonders of Nature.
As
of last night, the Chocolate Hills has climbed to 4th slot among 77 semi-finalists.
It is next only to Ha Long Bay of Vietnam, Cox's Bazar Beach in Bangladesh, and
Tubbataha Reef in Palawan also in the Philippines.
Others
in the Top 7 live ranking so far - all in Asia - are the Puerto Princesa Subterranean
River National Park also in Palawan, the Ganges River that runs across Bangladesh
and India and Mt. Everest in Nepal.
At
9th slot is the Mayon Volcano in the Philippines' Bicol Region. |
