ERC to rule on
power increase

The Energy Regulatory Commission will have to decide on the legality of the franchise held by Bohol Light Company Inc. before ruling on the application by the utility firm to pass-on charges of franchise taxes paid since 2001.

Some P36.5-million have been paid by Bohol Light to the national and city government in franchise tax and this will be charged on the monthly billings of electric consumers within a period of three years if the ERC grants their petition.

PMI top Dao hoopfest


The Dao Commercial Basketball League (DCBL) 2008 7th season, one of the rain-delayed cagefests this summer, finally came to a close with a big bang at the Dao open hardcourt last Sunday.

When the smoke cleared, the Navigators of coach Jun Zaldivar emerged champions against the UB Flying Lemures with a 2-1 victory in their best-of-three title series participated in by six top commercial teams here.

No suspects in latest city rob

Police remain clueless regarding the identities of two suspects who robbed the owners of a gas station in barangay Dao last Tuesday.

The two armed robbers fled with P240,000 in cash after they held-up Felix and Thelma Ayeng, owners of Dao Caltex Gas Station, who have just boarded their service vehicle to deposit their collections at a bank here about 8:30 a.m.
