Why
is Jun Lozada loitering around? No, it's not Loy Palapos asking
but former Senate Pres. Jovito Salonga, What is he up to?
Who is bankrolling his expenses in his "campus tours.
Would
the allegations he made before the Senate inquiry become gospel
truth when it is repeated in every campus around the archipelago?
Is this an application of the so-called Goebbels' theory where
a lie frequently repeated becomes true?
We
are not saying that Lozada is lying or not. Not even the Senate
because it is not the proper venue to ascertain the truth.
Senators would only like to hear what suits their political
motives. They are lawmakers, not judges. Let them legislate
rather than investigate. They have had enough of it. And we
are almost fed up.

In
Bohol, we have a potential whistle blower who turned out to
be whistled himself. Boy Pernia is supposed to get a pat in
the back for exposing an alleged P2 million anomaly at the
Capitol.
But
because there is a criminal masquerading as a mediaman who
tried but failed to blackmail Pernia, the potential whistle
blower turned out to be whistled by his ex-future blackmailer.
At
any rate, Pernia must expose this mediaman who allegedly demanded
a budget from him in exchange for not publishing the alleged
Capitol coop fund anomaly. Local media practitioners should
be one in condemning this vicious act lest they become suspects
too.

A
simple invitation for an arms supplier to attend the Liga
ng mga Barangay meeting here last week turned out to be a
hot issue of the week.
Taking
cue from reports that the punong barangays (not barangay captains,
please) are planning to arm themselves for inviting Shooters,
an arms dealer, Vice-Mayor Toto Veloso jumped the gun on them
by taking a stand during his radio program last Wednesday.
Under
the law, punong barangays are authorized to carry guns within
their respective territorial jurisdictions. So let them decide
whether it is proper for them to be armed or not. What's the
purpose of electing if we don't give them the discretion to
determine what is proper or not? At any rate, their actions
would be judged in the next barangay elections.

Judge
Ed Vincent Albano, acknowledged as the next JBL Reyes, breezed
into town last Thursday. Albano is an authority in Remedial
Law and Civil Law and has been a widely-respected reviewer
and lecturer in these legal fields.
Through
the auspices of RTC Judge Teofilo Baluma, Albano found his
way into the HNU Law Center last Thursday evening where he
had a "pep talk" with graduating law students.
Listening
him rattle off jurisprudence and decided cases for two straight
hours as if those were just in his finger tips still mesmerizes
us just like when we used to take our Civil Law review classes
with him in San Beda College almost a decade ago.

old site is already considered a fire hazard.
Just
recently, the Supreme Court has also designated RTC Branch
47 as an environmental court in Bohol.
