DESTABILIZATION:
ART OF PANDEMONIUM

(Amid the week-long histrionics against the Arroyo administration, we are giving way to this campus-like youthful piece by an e-mail sender who identified himself as 19-year old Ralph Rey C. Supremo of 13 New Calceta St., Tagbilaran City, Bohol and currently enrolled as BSN-2 in Holy Name University through his given e-mail address at kyaralph@yahoo.com)

Political chaos and moral tribulation are not new scenes in our national setting. Tiers upon tiers of sociological and political mayhem have haunted our land since it's inauguration as a Republic, but what do we do? The radical response of the self-righteous and the anarchists would be successive stampedes of massive gatherings and indiscriminate use of human rights for expression. Chaotic rallies, dramatic
lachrymal exhibitions, and moral or political manipulations through the media and the Church are just some of the many tools in the insurgence arsenal.

Insurgents are all around us, they act and seem to be very normal citizens but deep inside them hides a sinister demeanor. Insurgence presents towards our country the greatest challenge we have yet to overcome. Numerous political troughs have resonated within the decade, most of which are magnified by the opposition. "Hello Garci" and the so-called "NBN-ZTE Deal Scandal" are what seem to be gigantic acts of corruption done by the Arroyo Administration since its inception. But is it all true? I would gladly opine it to be NO. As far the past and present investigations of these issues are concerned, they can all be classified as misleading. Misleading in a sense that most of the investigations are done improperly due to the techniques that are not in league with the Constitution.

Senate Inquiries may be dug out as mere politically-motivated squabbles between Partisans with personal vested interests of political gain. The mere fact that Senators posses an immunity that protects them from charges of seemingly seditious statements with no moral ground or concrete evidence makes the Senate's "NBN-ZTE" investigation not very credible. The Senate should not take part in hearings for the Constitution mandates that only the courts are to settle matters of legal arguments such as the "NBN-ZTE" investigation. Witnesses are also to be scrutinized and investigated deeply before they are hailed as heroes and celebrity-like entities who are worshiped and idolized as infallible. Of what I have been educated on, no man is infallible but the Pope himself who is Christ's representative to his people on Earth and so directly symmetrizing Jesus to a mere man with questionable sincerity and integrity is a blasphemy!

The Religious and the laity must reflect on that and remain neutral throughout their service as guardians of the people's Faith and Morality, not as means of political maneuvering that only destroy our democracy and further disable our already impaired government. God himself treats the just and the unjust fairly with His eyes of love,
mercy and forgiveness and so the Church should too. The Church must not side with anyone but stand as a ballast of sobriety and social guidance and promote
peace and unity among its people. The Church should serve as the sanctuary for both the victim and the culprit.

Disarray and shame has enveloped the Philippines. Our international neighbors may now see the Philippines as a pigsty of social, political, and economic immaturity. This disarray is always present in Metro Manila and that the region around the Nation's capital is a ferocious community of frantic political combustion. The flammability of Metro Manila regarding the alleged anomalies behind the canceled "NBN-ZTE" contract between China and the Philippines only narrates the volatile and somewhat gullible nature of some Metro Manilans who easily partake in political regressions and moral pavements of protest backed by an unclear stand. Various allegations are always presented without any concrete evidence except ridiculous hearsays, false oaths and documents and that the political ruckus it brings is like a fungus that persistently re-grows.

Let us all remember that the views of Metro Manila do not necessarily reflect the views of majority of the Nation. Visayas and Mindanao refuse to allow themselves to be used to satisfy the hunger and lust for power and popular attention of some politicians and that the extent of protests outside Metro Manila are minuscule and are only attended by a handful of protesters. It is now quite clear that the issue is weakening and that it barely grasps the patriotism that it claims it is promoting. The best solution and remedy to the sonorous anti-government uprising we are facing now would be unity, peace, and sobriety.

The possible resignation of our current president will not solve the corruption that taunts our country and will only usher in dire negative consequences to our improving economy. Think first and then listen. Weigh the odds and answer to reason and conscience. Don't condemn anyone unless he/she is proven guilty. We are all in the quest for truth but the truth may have already been said but may have been twisted in the process or may at all be of non-existence. We must start among ourselves in order to annihilate corruption for changing our leaders will not help us do that.
