By KIT BAGAIPO

Two were injured after their light plane crash landed shortly before noon yesterday in San Jose, Talibon town.

A five-seater Cessna aircraft, RPC 1996, which was bound for Guiwan, Leyte experienced engine failure at 3,500 feet forcing its pilot, Capt. Luzvimindo Amoy, to find a landing site.

Amoy, together with his co-pilot identified as Allen Bandala suffered injuries as their light plane crash landed in a rice field some 1 kilometer from the national highway in San Jose, Talibon.

The two injured were rushed to the Garcia Memorial Hospital by residents and firemen who came to their rescue.

According to the Tagbilaran Air Transportation Office (ATO), the aircraft left Mactan Airport around 11:15 a.m. yesterday. The pilot reported losing its engine at about 11:35 a.m.

The impact of the crash caused the plane's engine to be dislodged from the aircraft's body, according to the ATO.

ATO Tagbilaran Manager Edgar Solis said that the incident was already reported to their Safety Division in Cebu City to determine the cause of the engine failure.
