TO
FEEL GREAT
To
feel great, understand even if misunderstood.
To feel great, feel things deeper than you would.
To feel great, say things softer than you would.
To feel great, do things slower than you would.
To feel great, smile broader than you would.
To feel great, touch gentler than you would.
To feel great, think clearer than you would.
To feel great, listen closer than you would.
To feel great, share more than you would.
To feel great, see farther than you would.
To feel great, I dare that you would.
To feel great, create all that you would.
To feel great, you could if you only would.
ELVIS
A
TV special I happen to sight,
On the life of Elvis, an American Knight.
It left me feeling sad inside,
The way this super-star icon died.
A
classic case of rags to riches,
From driving trucks and digging ditches.
A voice, a face and a smile beyond par,
Elvi's fame rose on a shooting star.
Thirty-three
movies did The King make,
But often smiles and laughter were faked.
In
Elvi's manager, Colonel Parker, was a seed?
That festered into a cancer called greed.
He wasn't satisfied with his fair share,
He wanted even more than he could bear.
The
world thought Elvis had it all,
But every move was the Colonel's call.
Payoffs and kickbacks were part of all deals,
Just other ways the Colonel steals.
Taxes,
Elvis paid more than his share,
Not all deductions would his father declare?
Vernon, an honest man, but afraid,
Allowed the IRS to dictate what Elvis paid.
Everyone
has a price to pay
The King paid every day in every way.
If you deal with the devil, you pay with you life,
And relationship with your child and wife.
How
do I know about all these things?
I
was the Man Pricilla left Elvis for.
She had enough and walked out the door.
Elvis was hurt, wanted to see me dead,
What really goes on in people's head?
What
started out as The American Dream?
From abject poverty to silver screen.
This story has happened to many, sad but true,
So be careful what you dream for, it could happen to you.
