One coastal policy in

Provincial lawmakers are pushing for a common ordinance to be adopted by three municipalities in the Bohol Marine Triangle (BMT) area despite a lack of interest from one of the local government units.

In a joint meeting yesterday of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) committees on environment and tourism, the delays in the implementation of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) entered last September 2008 by the mayors of Baclayon, Dauis and Panglao was discussed. FULL STORY

Questions swirl over the nomination of two reported frontrunners -- real estate businessman Rodolfo Robles and Solicitor General Agnes Devanadera -- to the Supreme Court post to be vacated by Justice Ruben Reyes on January 2, 2009. They are said to be the leading contenders in a list of 14 candidates recently published by the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) in newspapers and on its Web site. FULL STORY
