City council mulls
drainage turnover

 

City lawmakers are left undecided after an attempt to discuss the turnover of the city drainage system almost bogged down yesterday with the absence of the chairman of the committee on engineering and four other councilors.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP), convening as a committee of the whole, was to address a request of Gov. Erico Aumentado asking City Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso and the legislative body to adopt a resolution asking the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for a formal turnover of the drainage to the city government.
