Remains of "Princess"
capt. found, identified

Speculations that the Boholano captain of the ill-fated MV "Princess of the Stars" might have survived the sea tragedy off Romblon on June 21 ended yesterday.

The remains of Florencio Marimon Jr., a native of Loon town, the ship master of MV "Princess of the Stars", was finally identified in Cebu City yesterday by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) victims' identification team.FULL STORY

 

The capsized vessel MV "Princess of the Stars" which slammed into typhoon Frank near Romblon last June 21. Most of the more than 800 passengers and crew it carried during the incident perished including Boholano ship captain Florencio Marimon.

The Supreme Court (SC) dismissed from the judiciary Court of Appeals (CA) Justice Vicente Roxas and suspended CA Justice Jose Sabio for two months for their irregularities and improprieties in connection with the bribery scandal involving the Manila Electric Co. and Government Service Insurance System (Meralco-GSIS) case.
