Cargo vessel
runs aground

Speculations that the Boholano captain of the ill-fated MV "Princess of the Stars" might have survived the sea tragedy off Romblon on June 21 ended yesterday.

The remains of Florencio Marimon Jr., a native of Loon town, the ship master of MV "Princess of the Stars", was finally identified in Cebu City yesterday by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) victims' identification team.FULL STORY

MANILA. For three hours, the mobile phone of Court of Appeals Justice Vicente Roxas kept on ringing but the magistrate was not in the mood to answer the call. It was the afternoon of May 30, and the corporate war between the Lopez group and the Government Insurance System had just reached the CA. A raffle held earlier in the day had picked Roxas as the ponente of the case.
