Although
World Boxing Organization super bantamweight king Juan Manuel Lopez appears to
be unstoppable inside the ring, famed boxing trainer Freddie Roach feels the Puerto
Rican knockout artist still has some flaws in his style that Filipino boxing veteran
Gerry "The Fearless" Peñalosa can capitalize on when they face
each other in Puerto Rico on April 25.
"We
know that Lopez is a guy who starts strong and fast. He doesn't have a lot of
weaknesses, but we have seen several things and we will try to work on those during
the fight," said Roach in a report posted at BoxingScene.com. | | |

also trains Peñalosa aside from Manny Pacquiao.
Roach's
master plan for Peñalosa is to attack Lopez in he later rounds, when the
25-year-old undefeated warrior is already tired.
"Lopez
is going to come forward and be aggressive so Gerry will have to use his experience.
I have no doubt that as the rounds go on, Lopez will start to slow down and then
we will get him," said Roach. | Only
two of Lopez's 24 professional boxing fights reached the distance and his last
three fights against former WBO super bantamweight titlist Daniel Ponce de Leon,
Cesar Figueroa and Sergio Manuel Medina all ended in the first round.
The
35-year-old Peñalosa has been training in the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles
with close friend and fellow boxer Pacquiao, who will be fighting Ricky Hatton
on May 2 in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
