Graft suit filed
vs. city mayor


A third complaint has been filed at the Ombudsman against City Mayor Dan Lim last Thursday for violation of the anti-graft law in connection with the "anomalous" Tagbilaran City Square project.

The new charges adds to two other complaints lodged at the anti-graft body naming the city mayor together with eight other city hall officials for failure to liquidate cash advances and for violations of the code of conduct and ethical standards of public officials and employees.FULL STORY

SOURCE OF GRAFT. While residents are elated to see the Agora market finally done, the alleged corruption behind itsconstruction is anomalous, according to a complaint filed at the Ombudsman last Thursday. Centuries-old Santo Entierro stolen

The centuries old "Santo Entierro" of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in the interior town of Sevilla was stolen from the stock room of the church Friday night.

Rev. Fr. Ondoy Silagan, parish priest told the Chronicle that the priceless statue was found missing yesterday with the padlock of the stock room already destroyed.
