Legacy investors seek legal action

 

Boholano investors who have been shattered with the Legacy Group's promise of huge returns must consolidate filing of claims against the troubled firm until March 15.

This was the notice given by lawyer Salvador Grupo, one of the lead counsels of Legacy investors here, as insolvency proceedings against the pre-need firm is set for hearing at the Makati Regional Trial Court.

RP removed from list of tax havens

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said yesterday it has removed the Philippines among its black list of countries considered as uncooperative tax havens.

ANTI-INSURGENCY AT SEA. Bohol, being one of the favorite havens of tourists who are enjoying their Holy Week break at the resorts in Panglao island, it needs maximum security. Thus, the "assault watercraft maintenance training" was conducted among 35 personnel of SWAT and the Special Forces at barangay Bingag, Dauis town. Col. Alan Luga, 802nd brigade commander and Lt. Col. Alfredo Sanchez, battalion commander led the trainers during the 5-day event which ended last Monday. Two speedboats will now be based somewhere in Panglao after the training which was attended also by Police Inspector John Gano, head of the tourist police and concurrent Panglao PNP chief.
