An attempt to investigate into the P20-million unliquidated cash advances at City Hall could just end up foiled by administration bloc councilors even with mounting criticisms for transparency of the city government's financial transactions.

Bohol declares war
versus illegal drugs


An all out war to clear the streets of illegal drugs was declared by Gov. Erico Aumentado as he rallies the support of all law enforcement units and local government officials in the province.

Ordering the release of P250,000, through Executive Order No. 16, Series of 2009, as "seed money" for the intensified conduct of buy-bust operations, Aumentado issued his warning that nobody would be spared in the campaign to rid the province of the drug menace. FULL STORY

ZAMBOANGA CITY. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ordered the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) yesterday to rapidly conclude the war against terrorism and annihilate the Abu Sayyaf bandits in Basilan province, south of this city.
