Before Deadline..... Senators
oppose Arroyo's martial law proclamation
MANILA.
Most of the senators want to scrap it but majority of congressmen are all for
it.
The
Senate and the House of Representatives will hold a special joint session at 4
p.m. on Tuesday to address President Macapagal-Arroyo's imposition of martial
law in Maguindanao.
By
that time, martial law in the province where the country's worst election-related
violence occurred on Nov. 23 would have been in effect for close to four days,
and a number of senators on Saturday said the joint session should be held earlier.
