Rice
prices increase even bumper harvest A
spike in prices of rice hit local markets the past weeks even as officials assure
of an abundant supply for the entire province.
Monitoring
done by Station dyRD showed an increase of P2 per kilo to as high as P6 per kilo
in all rice varieties sold in public markets.
Commercial
rice such as those sold at P26 and P28 per kilo are now priced at P29 and P34,
respectively. The premium variety is sold at P37 to P40 in the market from a per
kilo price of P34 a few weeks ago. Fancy rice are sold at P42 to P46 per kilo. FULL
